The “cauldron” type design and proximity to the field of play ensures patrons have the best views and atmosphere ever experienced at any sports venue in Australia. It is the home ground of the Brisbane Broncos (rugby league), Queensland Reds (rugby union) and Brisbane Roar (football).
Located very close to Brisbane’s CBD, the state-of-the-art facility includes:
- 52,500 seats including over 41,500 general admission, over 450 wheelchair and carer positions and over 300 enhanced amenity seats
- International standard, quick draining, heavy duty playing surface
- 71 air-conditioned corporate suites and 99 open corporate boxes
- Dining facilities for over 1,900 patrons
- 24 food and beverage outlets, 37 liquor only outlets
- Integrated public transport system featuring bus station, elevated walkways to rail transport and to the CBD
The new stadium hosted 12 blockbuster events in its first six months of operation, including the staging of 9 games in 3 weeks for the Rugby World Cup 2003.
